Mennel Leave a Legacy Campaign Supports 100 Local Charities
December 3, 2024
Mennel hosted the third annual Leave a Legacy campaign November 1 - 22, 2024. Mennel shares the Leave a Legacy campaign on Giving Tuesday in hopes of encouraging the public to give back and support local charitable organizations as well.
Like the Giving Tuesday movement, Mennel’s program aims to support worthwhile organizations and provide employees with a special opportunity to help direct a portion of our 138-year-old organization’s charitable giving budget.
This year, more than 550 employees’ requests were received, amounting to $62,195 in donations to 100 charitable organizations across six states.
Aside from Mennel’s $100 donation per employee request, nearly 150 employees personally contributed $6,795 to charities with gifts ranging from $10 to $100 each.
Several Mennel locations also had 100% employee participation in the 2024 campaign.
Employee Testimonials:
I believe that leaving a legacy means you are creating a lasting impact on the world around you, through your actions, and values, so that you are remembered and positively influenced by future generations even after you are gone. I chose my charity The Cocoon, because they are committed to ending domestic and sexual violence, empowering those affected by abuse, and providing equity for all people through social change. Dana Heminger, Bulk Dispatcher, MMC Transport Fostoria
I chose the Crawford County Humane Society because there are countless animals in need. I may not be able to help all of them, but my donation can help provide food, shelter and care for a few animals until they find their forever. April Lutz, Quality Specialist, Mennel Bakery Mix and Foodservice
I chose Angels of Assisi because they do a great job of taking care of the animals and helping the community. Leave a Legacy means a lot to me because it provides the opportunity to share our success with an organization that we chose and is dear to our hearts. Robert Carter, Head Miller, Mennel Milling Roanoke
I chose the Fostoria United Way as my charity for Leave a Legacy because 100% of the proceeds go directly to help the citizens of Fostoria. The UW of Fostoria partners with numerous charitable organizations in the Fostoria area so I know the funds are going to those who need it most. Sixteen organizations partner with UW including the Geary Family YMCA, HOPE, FACT, and Red Cross. Brady Hall, Sales Manager, Corporate Sales
The Mennel Milling Company prides itself on being a charitable member of our communities because it’s the right thing to do.
